Contractors Title: Embedded Developer

Work Location: Lansdale, PA and Allentown, Pa

Is Telecommuting possible?  no

Work environment (private office?, cube?, high rise office building?): Cube.

Who does this position will report to?: CTO/Lead Developer

Why is there a need for this contractor? Meeting Critical project deadlines

What is the start date?: ASAP

What is the size of department?: 5-10 developers

What projects will the employee be involved with?: Real-time operating systems for Airflow and gas flow controls

Keys to position:

– Excellent English, independent or group worker (always small teams), emotionally stable, flexible, high GAS “give a shit factor”™ Factor

– Must stay up to date on latest tech using books, blogs …

– High volume/availability public facing web site experience a plus

– Knows how things “work” versus “black box” mentality

– Prefer “real” degrees: EE, CEE or CS

Role with the group (manager, programmer, etc.): .Embedded Developer

Required Skills:

– Responsible for the software development of real-time embedded controls with C++ for AVR32 (primary role) and C++ and C# in Windows CE 5.0/6.0 and the .NET Compact Framework 1.0/2.0 (secondary role).  C# and the .NET Compact Framework are used for the non-real-time user interface to the real-time control software

– BS in EE, CE, or CS (an actual engineer preferred). 3+ years C++ embedded software development with AVR32 or Windows CE

– 1+ years C# embedded software development with .NET Compact Framework

– Significant client interaction.  Because of the on-site (in Allentown area) client requirement of this job, candidates must reside between Plymouth Meeting and the Allentown area.

– Experiences with industrial automation and real-time controls

– Candidate must be an independent problem solver and self motivated to work hard.  Passion for meeting schedules with a good work ethic, creativity and positive attitude

– Candidate must have experience designing, implementing and testing embedded system and PC software applications

– Candidate MUST have flawless English verbal and written communication skills

– Non-Windows CE RTOS (real-time operating system) experience desired (FreeRTOS) especially with C++

– Microsoft desktop application development using Visual Studio 2008/2010, .NET Framework, XML, C++, C#, Windows Forms and Windows Presentation Foundation

– Some Intranet Web application and SQL Server experience desired

– Experience with building Windows CE images with Platform Builder or Visual Studio 2008/2010 desired

– Experience with industrial automation and real-time controls

Looking to hire this individual after they prove themselves – contractor for 6 months – employee thereafter
